 Hey there, I’m Coach Ashley Carlotta

Owner and Creator of Better Health by Accountability

I’m originally from San Jose, CA, SJSU grad, and moved to McKinney, TX in 2017. My husband and I have three beautiful kids together.

My body image issues began in Kindergarten at age 6. I started gaining some confidence in middle school through dancing - my passion at the time, but compared my body to others all the time!

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at age 16, an autoimmune disease. Food was a coping mechanism for me. And after high school, I put on even more weight. I had a lot of bad habits and found a love of being able to drive thru fast-food joints whenever I wanted. There may have been a lot of alcohol in there as well. I dieted down to a decent weight for my wedding, but still felt disappointed that I wasn’t at my “goal”. Fast forward to my 1st pregnancy – I gained 55 lbs. People kept saying it would come off easy. Nope - not for me. Then with my 2nd pregnancy, I gained 50 lbs… AGAIN. I’d start out “being good,” but my binge eating was out of control toward the last few months of my pregnancy.

After my daughter was born, I decided this is IT, I am DONE making excuses and feeling bad about myself. I was determined to fix my relationship with food. I practiced eating mindfully & intuitively along with regular exercise to slowly but surely shed the pounds. I weighed in the 130s for the first time in my adult life! I felt fit, strong and so confident.

From there, I had two miscarriages and another baby. After a huge rollercoaster of emotions, I knew exactly what I had to do to get back to those 130’s. I reminded myself that it didn’t need to be FAST. One thing in my stage of life was missing though: accountability. So naturally I posted all about my journey on Instagram like all normal people do (lol).

I am so incredibly passionate about helping people feel good about themselves because for so long I DIDN’T!! I am all too familiar with that insecure, unhappy feeling. And I believe…above all else – accountability and support is KEY.

I use what I’ve learned on my own up and down journey and apply it in my health coach training to support others in getting where they want to be! I KNOW how difficult and sometimes frustrating this journey can be. It is necessary to have someone looking out for you to help you trust the process. My goal is to make it as painless as possible for you – without dieting.

The best part? There are others like me, passionate about helping others achieve their wellness goals, and I have TWO OF THE BEST on my team!

My husband, kids, and I moved to Texas three years ago — originally from Denver.

Growing up I was an athlete, always playing sports and being active. Having the naturally thin frame that I did as a child and young adult, I never had to worry about my diet and gaining extra weight.

Fast forward to my early 30s, I had two kids under two and my body was unrecognizable to me. My once long and lean frame was now flabby and loose. I had extremely low self esteem all while navigating life with a baby and toddler.

I finally decided it was time for a change! I started investing in my overall health and wellness. I got back into the fitness world that I had once loved. It reignited my excitement for exercise, but fitness alone wasn’t achieving the goals I had for my body. I started learning more about nutrition and ended up earning my Nutrition Coaching Certification which gave me the tools to improve my overall lifestyle.

Through strength training and a proper diet I was able to gain muscle and lift heavy weights, something I hadn’t ever done before. I fully believe that strong trumps skinny. Conscious decisions regarding my health has become my lifestyle.

I am now here to help keep YOU accountable to your exercise and fitness goals. Together we can implement a healthy lifestyle and form habits that you will carry with you throughout the rest of your life.

Hi, I’m Coach Kellie.

I live in McKinney, TX with my husband, two sons, and two rescue dogs (I am a crazy dog lady!). I work part time as a Speech-Language Pathologist helping children with various speech disorders.

I love helping people improve their health habits. In fact, after taking a spiritual gifts test, I discovered that my top two gifts are mercy and serving. Coupling that with my life-long interest in health and fitness makes accountability health coaching a dream job for me.

Growing up, I played all of the sports, finally focusing primarily on volleyball. Being an athlete instilled great fitness habits into my life. However, when I went to college at The University of Texas (Hook ‘Em), healthy eating habits were very lacking. This caused me to struggle in my relationship with food and body image, big time.

I went through cycles of binge eating/drinking, followed up with guilt, then working out to counteract these extra calories. I experienced new negative emotions towards food and my body. Once I could catch my breath again after having two kids under two years old, I finally learned that balance and listening to my body is key. Maintaining weight-loss is not ‘easy’, but it doesn’t have to be hard either. Accountability keeps me on track.

True Lifestyle Change & Food Freedom

I’ve really appreciated the BHBA style. I felt extremely accountable, but not pressured. I never felt like I’d *be in trouble* for having wine with most of my dinners because that is something you CAN do and still be healthy. My goal was to really tackle this mental aspect once and for all. To create and keep balance.
